A gentleman recently relocated to Marietta with his wife. Soon after the move, his wife passed away unexpectedly and he was left alone not knowing where to turn. His wife provided all of his care including transportation due to him suffering from a debilitating eye disease. He called the O'Neill Center and received an assessment to outline his needs. He was enrolled in several different programs, including medical transportation and living assistance. He is now able to get to his needed medical appointments with the assistance of the drivers. They pick him up at his residence and deliver him to his physician safely, then return him home. A homemaker aide also goes into his home on a routine basis and completes basic household chores, laundry, and errands. Both of these services enable this gentleman to remain in his own home for as long as possible.
